The University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Military History to support delivery across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes including BA (Hons) Military History, BA (Hons) History, and a MA in Social & Cultural History. The successful applicant will join a well-established, research-active team within an expanding subject area at the University.   We are looking for an excellent teacher and researcher, who has experience of undergraduate teaching and preferably at postgraduate level. We are particularly interested in candidates who work on Air Power History, the Second World War and/or the Cold War. The History team specialises in 19th & 20th century political cultures, Intelligence History & the Second World War, Media History, Heritage Education, Intellectual History and Local History; and actively participates in the University’s research and knowledge exchange unit ‘History on Record: Unlocking the Archives’.

Student-centred and research-led strategies are at the heart of the History delivery at Bishop Grosseteste University. We seek to appoint a collegial, enthusiastic lecturer with a range of research and teaching expertise. You will also contribute to teaching across the wider subject area of History, if required. This is a permanent appointment. 

Candidates for this post should be in possession of a PhD or near completion, and preferably have a record of publication. They should also have some experience of teaching in higher education. This is an Early Career post and you will be supported in the development of your professional prospects.
