Description :

The University of Lincoln is looking for highly motivated individuals, interested in proactively impacting the student experience and developing their own personal and professional skills, to volunteer as part of the Residential Warden Team.

To be eligible to apply for this voluntary role, individuals must be studying at the University of Lincoln in the 2020-2021 Academic year.

The Residential Warden Team provides a further avenue of support to students, in addition to the teams within the Student Support and Student Wellbeing Centres, with the aim of providing an accessible source of support and someone to talk to, outside of the standard 9-5 operating hours of the University.

The role involves volunteering to take part in a rota covering evenings and weekends, as well as an on-call rota to support students via phone and in person. Residential Wardens operate both reactively, responding to incidents and proactively, visiting student apartments to offer support for any issues that may be occurring. The Residential Warden Team also organises and delivers events, activities, trips and awareness campaigns, as well as working at University of Lincoln events such as open days.

This is a voluntary position; Residential Wardens do not receive remuneration. However, as the role has a requirement to live in University owned and managed accommodation to fulfil the commitments of the role, accommodation is provided at no additional cost.

The anticipated time commitment of the role is 15 hours active volunteering for each week in residence, plus on call elements.

Start and end dates are negotiable

Please note that this post requires an Enhanced DBS check.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2
