Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Professor/Clinical Associate Professor of Medical Education, Surgical Speciality Skills at Lincoln, based at Lincoln Medical School (LMS), a collaborative venture between the Universities of Nottingham and Lincoln. The LMS project is of considerable strategic importance to the University. We welcome applications for consideration for both surgery speciality posts; please indicate your preference.

The successful applicant will work with a team of clinical academics dedicated to establishing and delivering the Nottingham BMBS medicine course at Lincoln. We welcomed the first cohort of student in Sept 2019, who start their clinical phase in Feb 2022.  

The role and responsibilities of the post will evolve as the new School is made ready to accept students into the clinical phase and transition to being an established provider of high quality medical education. 

Applicants must be medically qualified with a current licence to practise and a CCT in a surgical/orthopaedic speciality. You must have a higher qualification in medical education and / or experience in leading the design of teaching and educational programmes in medicine, assessment techniques and methods, the extent of which will determine the level of the appointment.

If successful you will be employed on a permanent, single university contract in line with Follett principles, whilst holding an honorary clinical service contract with United Lincoln Hospitals Trust (ULHT). It is a requirement that the role holder maintains regular clinical practice in a recognised medical speciality and maintains a licence to practice and be re-validated with the GMC. The post will be spilt 0.5 academic work and 0.5 clinical practice.

This is a full time, permanent position.
