Description :

The School of Management invites applications for a post at the level of Lecturer (Teaching) in Finance at the University of Bath.

We seek a new colleague with teaching interests in finance. Lecturing allocation for this post is not pre-determined but, for example only, the successful applicant is likely to be comfortable teaching third year undergraduate Financial Markets & Derivatives, if required.

The School of Management is undergoing a notable period of faculty expansion and facility improvement which will include moving into a state-of-the-art new building, currently under construction. The School has access to data as you would expect, including Datastream, CRSP, Compustat and the WRDS platform but also many others, such as Audit Analytics, BoardEx, CSMAR China data, Eventus, London LSPD, Markit, Mergent FISD, MFLinks, Option Metrics, and daily TAQ data.

The School is a vibrant and productive community and is ranked among the top UK Business Schools. It was ranked 8th in the UK for Business and Management Studies, including 6th in the UK for world class and internationally-leading publications, in the results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). It was ranked 5th for Accounting and Finance (The Guardian University Guide 2020) and 6th for Accounting and Finance (The Complete University Guide 2020).

The University of Bath is situated on a modern campus surrounded by attractive countryside overlooking the centre of Bath, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage City, famous for its Georgian architecture and its cultural festivals. It is a safe and friendly campus with excellent sports facilities. Bath is easily accessible by air, road and rail and located only 100 miles west of London (under an hour and a half by train).

This is a full-time post with start date in 2020 or early 2021.

Informal enquiries may be made to Professor David Newton, Head of the Accounting, Finance and Law Division, email dpn25@bath.ac.uk.
