Description :

You will join our team within the world-renowned Optical Fibre Fabrication Group at the Optoelectronics Research Centre/Zeplar Institute, Southampton University. The post will primarily involve operation and maintenance of the optical fibre fabrication facility in the cleanroom. A good knowledge of optical fibre technology or material processing in a cleanroom environment is desirable. The candidate should have a proven track-record in repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Applicants should have a degree (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering / physics / chemistry discipline and several years of post-graduate experience in an engineering environment.

The appointment will initially be for 3 years on TAE Level 4 (Technical and Experimental) Pathway with further scope for a long term appointment. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
