Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)

Part time posts for two or three days a week. Days have to include, Wednesday and Thursday

Are you an experienced mental health profession (clinical / counselling psychologist / high intensity therapist or a primary wellbeing practitioner?  Would you like to develop your academic career; contributing to teaching on the Advanced Practice in Psychological Wellbeing programme at the University of Surrey?  If so, we are looking for someone to join the programme on a part-time basis (two or three days per week); providing the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to continue their clinical work whilst also helping to develop the knowledge and skills of trainee psychological wellbeing practitioners.

We have expanded the programme at the request of Health Education England South Coast. To support this expansion we are looking for new members of staff. The roles are permanent for two or three days a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and delivery of lectures.  Other responsibilities will include being a professional tutor for a number of trainees, trainee recruitment, mid-way review visits (across venues in Sussex, Surrey and Kent) and service liaison. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinical / counselling psychologist / high intensity therapist or primary wellbeing practitioner who have a strong desire to pursue a career in education. The successful candidate will also demonstrate themselves to be a motivated, creative and energetic individual who is able to act on their own initiative. A willingness to travel and experience of working in primary care (potentially within the IAPT initiative) is desirable; as is experience of teaching / training (although this is not essential). Please note, appointment to this role is subject to student numbers in the first instance.

The programme sits within the Department of Psychological Intervention, School of Psychology, in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
