Description :

The Institute for Communication Systems is looking to recruit a research fellow in Advanced Wireless Communications. The is exciting opportunity will undertake research in advanced Physical layer algorithms for support of Terabits per second communication, that includes but not limited to, Massive MIMO detection and precoding, Machine learning aided detection and modulation, Channel coding and Modulation schemes and diversity schemes.

The focus of the work is mainly on Physical layer algorithms for both transmitter and receiver for multi-user communications. The research is carried out using a combination of computer simulations and mathematical analysis for frequencies above 5GHz all the way to TeraHertz.

ICS is the largest academic research institute in Europe specialising on all aspects of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). It is home to over 200 researchers with expertise in all communication and broadcasting systems and has developed the best in class large scale testbeds for research and innovation and enjoys the state of the art lab and computing facilities.

5GIC established in 2012, is the world’s first dedicated centre in researching end-to-end aspects of 5G and works closely with national and international leading academic institutes and key industrial partners.

Communication and signal processing theory, computer simulations are key skills needed and a PhD with good quality publications in the field are important.
