Birmingham City University is a leading modern university, in one of the UK’s largest thriving cities. The Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences has an outstanding reputation for the training and education of health and education professionals, assisted by first rate facilities and placement opportunities. 

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an established and skilled technical team. The successful applicant will support a number of teaching activities including courses for the health and social care professions. Duties include, but are not limited to, set up and clear up of clinics, laboratories and other teaching rooms, maintenance of equipment, updating asset inventories and maintaining organised storage areas. 

This could be an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain work experience within a committed technical team within a dynamic forward-thinking University. We are keen to receive applications from individuals with relevant who are motivated, committed and who thrive when working using their own initiative. Applications from retired nurses and workers with previous clinical experience are also welcome. You may have Bachelor’s degree in biological, biomedical related subjects or in a Nursing or other health related discipline or an equivalent combination of education/experience in a technical or clinical role. The minimum qualifications include BTEC, HND, NVQ (level 3 or above) or equivalent with a minimum of GSCE maths and English language or equivalent.

The role requires an understanding of workplace health & safety, good communication skills and a positive attitude. Applications are welcome from any candidates who can demonstrate relevant practical expertise and experience.
