Brighton Business School is seeking an experienced professional administrator to fill the position of School Manager on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2020.

Reporting to the Head of School, you will work with the School Management Team to deliver both the University and School strategies, and support the best possible student experience whilst optimising the efficient use of resources. Key to this will be creating and maintaining a community of practice with both academic and professional support staff in the School and appropriate stakeholders across and external to the University.  

In this busy and interesting role, you will lead and represent a large team responsible for all areas of professional services in the School, ensuring excellent customer service levels are met and maintained. You will also works closely with colleagues throughout the University, and in particular with Academic Services, the Evaluation and Policy Department, Human Resources, Finance Department, Marketing and Communications, and other academic schools.

To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience of management and leadership of professional services in the HE sector with excellent negotiation and planning skills.  The ability to meet strategic objectives and work across a series of competing priorities will also be essential, along with a resourceful approach and problem-solving skills required to flourish in a demanding role at a senior level.

This is a full-time appointment for a fixed term period from August to December 2020 pending the outcome of the University's ongoing organisational reviews.  The role may be suitable for an internal secondment opportunity subject to agreement by your current line manager.
