The Department of Sport, Health and Exercise Science sits within the Faculty of Health Sciences and teaches over 400 students, including over 40 postgraduates studying MSc by Research or PhD. We now seek to appoint a senior lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics to develop a new taught MSc Nutrition and Dietetics (Pre-Registration) programme to complement our existing academic portfolio of undergraduate programmes in Sport Rehabilitation, Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Coaching and Performance Science, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, Physiotherapy and taught MSc programmes in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, Cancer Rehabilitation, and Clinical Exercise Physiology. The new MSc Nutrition and Dietetics is aligned with the Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership Long Term Plan (2019-2024), which aims to increase the number of health and social care professionals within our health economy, has been developed with the involvement of key stakeholders and placement partners have been identified across the region.

As the academic lead for our proposed MSc programme you will develop the academic curriculum, liaise closely with accrediting bodies, engage with external stakeholders including service users and employers, and provide teaching support for complimentary programmes within our portfolio. The post will involve the supervision of postgraduate students, including work placements and dissertations. You will be based in our dedicated facilities within the Don and Washburn Buildings. You will be an experienced academic with curriculum development experience, and have an established research portfolio. You will hold an MSc (or other postgraduate qualification) and be accredited by a relevant professional body (HCPC, BDA).

You should have good organisational, inter-personal, and communication skills, a student-centred approach, and have a passion for research and enterprise activities as well as continued professional development.
