About You 

We seek an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.  You should have a relevant background and experience in clinical governance, patient safety and leadership and use appropriate underpinning strategies to inform teaching.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and professional experience. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within the new Medical School.  You should have an established or promising research profile. Our research profile is expanding and our staff are required to engage in this activity and we have established research themes. The Medical School has a growing enterprise and CPD remit and you will also be required to contribute to the successful development and implementation of this. 

About the Role

The post is to support the expansion and development of The Edge Hill University Medical School at an exciting time in its evolution.   

Working across the Medical School, the successful candidate will play a key role in all aspects of programme delivery across the continuum of UG>PG provision.  Specifically, this post holder will support cross-school delivery of the Patient Safety, Quality Improvement (PSQI) and leadership themes that are embedded in our MBChB, MSc Physician Associate (PA) Studies, our 3 PGC/PGD/MSc Leadership Development and Management programmes and the PGC Medical Leadership. 

In January 2020, we were successful in securing the HEE (NW) contract for delivery of PG Medical Education and Medical Leadership CPD modules for clinicians and the successful candidate will also play a key role in the delivery of the medical leadership aspect of this contract as well as contributing to our CPD/Enterprise provision. 

The successful candidate will provide greater capacity/subject expertise to deliver on this provision, enhancing the student experience by providing excellent and effective teaching that is embedded in current, evidence-based practice, supporting students to achieve their full potential and preparing them for safe and effective practice throughout their clinical career. 

As related to the subject speciality outlined above, the successful candidate will be supported to develop a strong research profile.
