Description :

The University of Bath is highly rated for excellence in research and teaching. Amongst our strengths is our track record of collaborating with external organisations to develop research outputs that deliver economic, societal and environmental benefits. We have the opportunity to appoint an outstanding candidate with a high degree of professionalism to the Research Grant Development Team. You will help us to meet our goal of increasing our research funding and delivering high quality support to our academic staff.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate new research opportunities for the University of Bath, leading to the submission of grant applications which would not have been realised without your input. This will necessitate an in-depth knowledge of relevant funders, such as: UK Research & Innovation, Learned Societies, charitable organisations, and the European Commission. The role-holder will grow the quality and ambition of funding applications, provide hands-on support to strategic projects and embed good practice in research grant development throughout the University.

This role will focus on support for Engineering and Physical Sciences – ideally you will have experience with large, multi-party grants, and in particular of supporting proposals to UKRI, Fellowships and/or other funding schemes.

This post is available as an open-ended contract for 29.2 hours per week – working pattern to be agreed with successful candidate.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the Head of Research Grant Development, Dr Kate Charles (kec34@bath.ac.uk).
