Deputy Director of Primary Care Academic Teaching (Y4) (A3047)

Lancaster Medical School seeks to appoint a Deputy Director of Primary Care Academic Teaching (Y4 Lead) to support the Director of Primary Care Academic Teaching in providing primary care teaching to the School. You will be clinically qualified and currently practising as a general practitioner.  

We seek to appoint a senior academic GP who has experience and expertise in designing, developing and delivering high quality clinical teaching with a primary care emphasis. You will have a lead in the roll out of clinical learning and teaching for Y4 medical undergraduates. You will also have experience engaging with local communities and primary care organisations to build strong primary care placements including those in under-served and hard-to-reach populations. You will work in collaboration with the other GP Clinical Teaching Fellows, Senior Academic GPs, and staff in Lancaster Medical School, GP practices and local community groups and organisations to support and deliver primary care orientated courses for medical students.

This role has a significant teaching component and you will be involved in delivering small group teaching to Y4 students for one day per week across the academic year. In addition, you will be involved in quality assurance of placements, assessment processes, and in the full scholarly activity of a thriving Medical School.
