Specialist Maths and Statistics Tutor (1273820HL)

The Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM) department are seeking to appoint a proactive individual to join as Specialist Maths and Statistics Tutor. WPSM is responsible for the access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds. 

The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering mathematical and statistical skills support for students. They will provide crucial supplementary support for students in this area, providing additionality to their studies. The post will add academic enhancement through a variety of methods and tools. The post will provide a blended service through face to face and online support, including information and advice service through targeted information materials, tailored to meet the needs of University of Southampton students on a range of mathematics and statistics topics. The post will primarily focus on the development of online support resources. You will also have an empathy for widening participation and its aims. 

You will be based on Highfield campus and will work mainly in the enhancement section of WPSM, with close interaction with the access, success and lifecycle sections. This new role is essential for ensuring maths and statistical support for students who are in the most need.  

You are required to hold a relevant degree and/ or functional/ professional qualification (or demonstrable, equivalent experience). This role will require a DBS check.
