This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and collaborative academic to join a vibrant, dynamic and expanding research community on a fixed term, one year contract. We are proud to promote a cross phase, multi-disciplinary research ethos with an emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion.

The post-holder will work with colleagues in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the Centre for Social Care, Health and Related Research (C-SCHaRR), to make a significant contribution to the development of our research in health by supporting our REF submission. We are proud to promote a cross phase, multi-disciplinary research ethos and currently have three key research groups in the areas of Family care, Person-centered ageing, and Knowledge mobilization in healthcare. Whilst we welcome applications from colleagues in any area of our practice we are particularly looking to strengthen our capacity and capability in the areas of family health, dementia and positive ageing.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious early career researcher, who is either near completion or who has completed their doctorate, in an area cognisant with our work in C-SCHaRR. Our ideal candidate will have a practitioner profile health, with some experience of project work and related activities such as bid writing and aspects of project delivery or co-ordination.

First degreeHigher degree course in relevant subject area is preferred.Willingness to study for a PhDPossess sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmesEvidence of research activity and published research is desirableExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to communicate material of a specialist or highly technical natureAble to manage research and administrative activities and to balance competing pressures of research and administrative demands and deadlinesGood interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues and studentsAble to build contacts and participate in internal and external networks for the exchange of information and collaboration.Able to identify potential sources of funding.Evidence of engagement in continuous professional development.Understand equal opportunity issues and how they may impact on areas of researchUnderstanding of Health and Safety requirements and experience of carrying out risk assessmentsExperience of undergraduate teaching is desirable.
