About You

We are seeking a positive and friendly professional to join our high performing working team. You will be a team player, who has excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to problem solve and communicate professionally in a variety formats and to varying customers. The ideal candidate will be solution focussed, flexible to change, can work actively to meet multiple deadlines, adhere to quality and enjoy working in collaboration with others. 

You will have technical knowledge of Apple Mac and PC hardware, software (Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite) and peripherals. Experience with audio-visual technologies and IT and providing frontline IT and AV support in a teaching and learning environment will be advantageous.

About the Role


You will work within the Catalyst building as an IT and AV Support Technician, providing a proactive hardware and software support service across the University, maintaining excellent availability and functionality of its first class teaching and learning spaces. You will work with new and intuitive technologies, providing excellent customer care for all users of these facilities.

Library & Learning Services is central to the academic life of the University: it helps our students to succeed; and it provides strong support for our research and knowledge exchange work. The University is extremely proud of its new, iconic and state of the art building, Catalyst, home to Library and Learning Services, Careers and Student Services.


Catalyst has brought together several of Edge Hill’s student facing teams, giving them a prominent and highly visible presence at the heart of the campus providing a 24-hour service for all user communities. Catalyst currently houses 230,000 books, the University Archive, over 800 study spaces, of which 500 are IT enabled. It also offers a broad range of student facing specialist services, group and individual study spaces, training facilities and a dedicated study space for researchers.
