Description :
A postdoc or predoc position is available to study molecular mechanisms of regeneration in the Central Nervous System (CNS). The project will involve the application of spatial transcriptomics and correlative light and electron microscopy techniques. The applicant will work in the laboratories of Mikael Simons (www.agsimons.weebly.com) and the SyNergy Nanoscale Hub (www.synergy-munich.de/research/hubs/nanoscale/index.html) at the Institute of Neuronal Cell Biology at the DZNE (German Center of Degenerative Diseases) Munich Großhadern. The project is part of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) Checkpoints of Central Nervous System Recovery - Transregio 274. The aim of the CRC is to understand the biology of the multicellular response that determines recovery after CNS injury. The CRC is embedded into the "Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology" (SyNergy) promoting integrative research into a broad range of neurological diseases, with the aim to improve pathomechanistic understanding and eventually therapeutic options.
