About You  

We are looking for a dynamic NMC registered Midwife with clinical and/or educational experience, with a passion for delivering an outstanding teaching, learning, assessment and support experience, to our pre-registration Midwifery students. The successful applicant should have a current understanding of key issues pertaining to midwifery practice, maternal and child health, in addition to having a keen interest in contributing to the professional, academic, research and scholarly development of the Department/Faculty. 

The successful applicant will possess skills that encourage student engagement and facilitate student support. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, the programme team, administrative staff and a range of partners including the NHS, Independent, Voluntary and Private sector. 

We would welcome applications from individuals who have an established track record of research output/scholarly publication and experience of participating in REF exercises, although there will be opportunities to be involved in research and ongoing scholarship and professional practice.

About the Role  

The Midwifery team are currently developing the midwifery curriculum to meet the new NMC (2019) Standards for pre-registration Midwifery, with the view to deliver programmes approved under these standards from September 2021. This development will include in the first instance; BSc (Hons) Midwifery and MSc Midwifery (Short Programme), and participation in wider university activities relevant to the courses and their administration.
