About You 

You will be a passionate and enthusiastic professional, with a PhD and research experience specifically in the area of plant population genetics or plant ecology, including a good knowledge of the UK flora. You will have the determination and enthusiasm required to make use of your broad knowledge of the field and deliver an outstanding experience to students.

To be successful you will have a proven track record in research and publication or be able to provide convincing evidence of the potential to do so; and be able to contribute to the growing research profile of the Department and to future REF submissions.

About the Role

You will manage and teach modules on the Biology, Plant Science and Ecology and Conservation programmes plus the Biotechnology and Genetics programmes subject to relevant expertise. A key aspect of your role will be to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects, acting as a personal tutor across all years. It is also expected that you will develop and maintain your own research programme. You are also expected to spend a few weeks per year in China as part of the team delivering the department’s modules overseas.
