About You

You will be proactive, comfortable working independently and have practical experience in searching databases (e.g., ProQuest or LexisNexis). You will also be competent in the use of corpus-linguistics and relevant tools (Wmatrix, CLAWS, SketchEngine, WordSketch, Treetagger). You will possess excellent communication skills and have experienced success in high-quality peer-reviewed academic publication. 


About the Role

You will join a stimulating research environment with interdisciplinary approaches and provide quality research support on a British Academy/Leverhulme Small Grant-funded research project, ‘Implicit attitudes towards autism in the British press’. You will investigate how the British press uses language to portray autism. You will develop a corpus of articles and text from the press that refer to autism and autistic people and perform appropriate corpus-linguistics analysis to address the project’s research questions.
