Birmingham City Business School is in the city-centre and successful candidates will work with our staff to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching and assessment methods.

The Department of Strategy, Management & Marketing’s portfolio of courses includes undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses in management, leadership, human resources and hospitality.  

With our growing portfolio and increased student interest, the Business School will be hosting a virtual assessment centre for visiting lecturers on Tuesday 8th & Friday 11th December (you will only be required to attend one date).  We are looking for visiting lecturers who combine industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional level. Examples of areas of specialist knowledge we are interested in are:    

Entrepreneurship Practice; New Venture Creation; Innovation and Creativity; 

In addition to these subject areas, Visiting Lecturers may be asked to teach an element of Research Methods according to their skills in either quantitative or qualitative research methods, and supervise Masters level dissertations.

If you would like to take part in our assessment centre please identify your subject specialisms in order for us to identify if we have suitable teaching opportunities.  At the assessment centre you will be asked to deliver a micro teach, meet some of the teaching team and participate in a short exercise – All COVID safe and online.   

Our classes typically run between 9am and 9pm Mon to Fri although some classes can be on the weekend.  You will be asked for availability and flexibility during the recruitment process.  All visiting lecturer positions are required to deliver teaching on campus, face to face in our COVID safe classrooms.  All successful candidates must be available for teaching from week commencing 25th January 2021 and will be required to complete our COVID safe onboarding training before entering our campus where PPE will be provided.

Please note that Visiting Lecturer posts are part time, fixed term contracts for which a specific amount of hours work will be agreed between you and the Faculty. Visiting Lecturer posts are paid hourly and there are a range of pay rates dependant on the role.
