Birmingham City Business School is in the city-centre and successful candidates will work with our staff to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching and assessment methods.

The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics’ portfolio of programmes includes undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses in accounting, finance, economics, internal audit ,risk management and the newly introduced Islamic Finance undergraduate course.

Ideally you will combine industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional level. Examples of areas of specialist knowledge we are interested in are: 

Islamic Economics, Islamic banking and Capital Markets, Islamic Social Finance, Islamic Fintech and Islamic Law as related to Business and Accounting.

In your application, please identify your subject specialisms as this will assist in identifying suitable candidates as teaching opportunities become available.

In applying for this vacancy you will be submitting your details to a Visiting Lecturer recruitment pool. Please note that Visiting Lecturer posts are part time, fixed term contracts for which a specific amount of hours work will be agreed between you and the Faculty. Visiting Lecturer posts are paid hourly and there are a range of pay rates dependant on the role.

As and when relevant teaching hours become available that your CV and experience are suitable for, you will be contacted by the Faculty directly to discuss further details. Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to hear back from the Faculty.
