Description :

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and motivated lecturer to join the growing and vibrant Responsible Enterprise and Innovation Subject Group within the School of Business and Law at The University of Brighton.

We seek to appoint a lecturer who can contribute to delivery of Strategy and Entrepreneurship modules (and possibly Social Enterprise) and also to support research methods delivery. Ideally you will have experience of higher education but applications from candidates with a recognised qualification and those from a professional/commercial background seeking to move to a career in education would also be welcomed. Experience of, and the ability to teach, planning and evaluating strategies which are relevant to entrepreneurship are key. We are particularly keen that this content delivery can be delivered alongside professional research skills from Undergraduate to Post-graduate level.

In the role, continuing academic development is expected as a means of keeping up to date with developments in those areas reflecting the changes in the business landscape and environment. It is expected that you will actively engage in research and scholarship. Academic staff at Brighton develop student learning through open, friendly, student-centred attitudes towards excellence in teaching and all staff engage in the administration of teaching and research, for example through the leadership of modules and participation in regular committee work.

We have a requirement that all staff will be qualified in higher education teaching at a level equivalent to Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy by the end of their first year of teaching. Staff without formal teaching qualifications will be expected to complete the University’s postgraduate certificate in higher education teaching or apply for an HEA fellowship via the portfolio route (pending prior teaching experience).
