Description :

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is seeking to appoint a full-time, 3 ½ year (42-month) fixed-term Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join the Entrepreneurship & Strategy Department.  LUMS has built a 24-year reputation for research of outstanding quality. We are looking for a PDRA to join the School’s inspiring research culture.

The work is to support a four-year, EC Horizon 2020 sponsored project to address gender inequality in Business and Management (B&M) schools through the development and effective implementation of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs).  Partner organisations in the TARGETED-MPI consortium are based in Europe and the Middle East.

You will be closely supported by the academic lead. You will collaborate with project partners to undertake State of Art and State of Practice literature reviews on gender equality and to undertake in-depth empirical work and data analysis.  You will also be involved in organizing and contributing to stakeholder workshops and dissemination events, including the development and management of a Gender Equality Observatory at Lancaster University, part of a European Network of Gender Equality Observatories to be established by the project, to ensure the long-term sustainability of gender equality activities and initiatives in academia.

The post will require travel within Europe to attend stakeholder workshops and project meetings.

Research activities and engagement with the project members and those individuals and stakeholders the project is working with will be an important part of your activities. You will be expected to participate in knowledge dissemination activities and to be a key part of the Department’s research and engagement community.

You will join a team comprising academics and other stakeholder organisations, working collaboratively with our partners. You will be joining an inspiring research setting that will integrate you into the project and also supports you in developing your own research profile.

The School provides a research environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena Swan Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.

You will join us on an indefinite contract however, the role remains contingent on external funding which at this time is until 31/08/2024.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
