The Department of Organisation, Work and Technology at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invites applications for a Teaching Associate to begin as soon as possible.  The department welcomes applications in all areas of management that fit with research/scholarship relevant to the research themes of the departments. You will have completed a PhD or be close to completing

You will make a strong contribution to our high-quality teaching (lectures and seminars), primarily at undergraduate level. The post will involve a significant teaching load, including during the summer period. You will be willing to innovate with respect to curriculum development (programme design, implementation and assessment), lead on the academic and student mentor schemes, as well as supervise and support dissertation students.  You would have responsibility for the management of our Graduate Teaching Associates on our large first year programmes. 

You will ideally possess a PhD in Management (or cognate discipline); a Higher Education teaching qualification would also be desirable. You will have recent experience in teaching one or more of the following areas: organisational behaviour, human resource management, change management, employment relations, leadership, ethics, management and society, and/or information systems at University level.

Key responsibilities will include:

As part of a teaching team, deliver a range of established lectures and seminars.Undertake assessment activities and provide appropriate feedback to support student learning. This will be particularly focused across a range of undergraduate courses.Supervise Graduate Teaching Assistants. To take a substantial role in advising and mentoring undergraduate students.To contribute to student recruitment activities (e.g., Applicant Visit Days). To lead on the student mentor scheme and on the academic tutorial scheme.

You will join us on an indefinite contract however the role remains contingent on external funding which at this time is due to come to an end on 30th June 2022.
