Research Associate/Fellow in Breast Pathology/Digital Pathology (Fixed-term) (MED346920)

The world-leading Breast Pathology Research Group (BPRG) is inviting applications for the post of Research Fellow. 

Led by Professor Emad Rakha, we are an expanding and dynamic research team working with significant grants and partners to pioneer the digitisation of breast pathology using artificial intelligence to develop diagnostic and prognostic tools. Last year we secured multimillion-pound grants, including PathLAKE - one of a network of five new Centres of Excellence in digital pathology and/or medical imaging and part of the £50million Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Our enviable publications record saw over 370 publications with over 45 articles published in peer reviewed journals in 2019.

Based at Nottingham City Hospital, we are part of the University of Nottingham’s Biodiscovery Institute which brings together researchers from different disciplines to shape the future of health and biotechnology.

You will be a highly motivated and personable individual who works well as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and you will be someone who can use your own initiative. You will be responsible for your own research activity and leading a workstream, as well as contributing to the activity of the group focussing on digital pathology. You will have specific responsibility for leading and coordinating the publications and outputs of the group, and you will play an intrinsic part of the grant-writing team as we look to secure future projects and funding. You will be working under the mentorship of leading pathologists and senior researchers, who will help and support your career development.

You will hold a PhD, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area, or be near to completion of your PhD. 

This is a fixed-term post available until 31 March 2022. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week), however job share arrangements may be considered.
