Professor Aymen Al-Shamkhani is looking to recruit to a full time post-doctoral position in cancer immunotherapy. The post will be based in the newly opened Centre for Cancer Immunology and is funded by CRUK for 18 months in the first instance. The University of Southampton has a strong track record in basic and translational immunology, including development of biologics that stimulate anti-cancer T cell responses. You will work on developing a novel class of synthetic agents capable of targeting specific members of the TNFRSF. The focus of the work will be to use state of the art imaging techniques, cellular and biochemical assays as well as pre-clinical models to evaluate the therapeutic potential of these agents. 

You will have an interest and experience in both cell biology and tumour immunology. It is essential you have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and laboratory experience in cellular immunology and/or pre-clinical models of cancer. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent data management, verbal and written communication skills and will be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
