Description :

New Forms of Data Collection: Data Quality of Sensor and App Data in the UK

A fully funded studentship awarded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership (SCDTP) commencing in 2021/22 Academic Year.

The main aims of the project are to study data quality in new forms of data collected through sensors and apps in the UK as well as to compare the data to traditional survey data collected through face-to-face interviews. New forms of data collection are promising but not without associated challenges which need to be assessed and understood in order to be able to exploit their potential to a maximum. The project will utilise UK secondary data resources accessible from the UK Data Service (UKDS) and similar data available from CBS Statistics Netherlands to allow for cross-country comparisons of results.
