The Kramer research group at the University of Southampton invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate bifunctional electrocatalysts. The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge in using Density-Functional-Theory to investigate the properties of strongly correlated transition metal oxides. A proven track record in using electronic structure theory to investigate complex surfaces and in virtual catalyst design are highly welcome.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

The successful applicant will become part of the "Joint University Industry Consortium for Energy (Materials) and Devices Hub" and interact with researchers at participating universities. Collaboration with experimental research groups is particularly important for the success of this targeted and fast-paced project.

This position is on a fixed term contract until 31/10/2021 to deliver on a well-defined research objective in a high quality and fast-paced environment.
