The School of Engineering at the University of Southampton is a world-class centre for education, research and enterprise. Our Engineering Foundation Year has been running for nearly thirty years and plays a key role in diversifying the student intake to the Schools of Engineering, Electronics & Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics. We are looking for someone committed to a career in engineering education to join our Foundation Year team. 

You will contribute to the educational delivery of the Foundation Year as well as the pastoral care of students. Your role will include opportunities for external engagement, and for developing leadership and management experience. Our Engineering programmes are all highly ranked within the leading UK league tables and the School has a culture of supporting education innovation to enhance the learning experience of our students. 

You will use your experience in engineering educational delivery at foundation level to invigorate the programme content and will demonstrate a commitment to delivering a range of teaching, assessment and feedback methods in a well-organised and structured learning environment. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate complex information effectively, engaging the interest and enthusiasm of students. You will take a role in the management and organisation of the programme, including coordination of the response to feedback from our students. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the process of research,  by having achieved a PhD or equivilant professional qualification in a relevant subject.

This position is offered as a permanent full time post. It is anticipated the commencement date will be in early February 2021.
