About You

An established or promising research profile in health and social care and very good teaching experience on undergraduate allied health programmes is paramount. A background in Paramedic Practice with supporting qualifications and experience is essential.

About the Role

Working within the Allied Health Professions Education Department, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our Paramedic Practice programmes and other areas of our core curriculum, depending on your areas of expertise and experience.

You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.

The Paramedic Practice Programme at Edge Hill University has a proven track record of high quality, excellent and successful enhancement of the student experience, producing excellent practitioners at the point of registration. We are looking to add to the team of established Paramedic Practice Lecturer's/Senior Lecturer's within the Allied Health Professions department. We are seeking committed, creative and forward-thinking educators to join our Faculty where you will be supported to thrive. Successful applicants will join a dynamic and innovative team and will make a major contribution to the leadership, management and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. 

This post requires a highly motivated individual with strong track record of, and enduring interest in, supporting and engaging with students within the Higher Education environment and clinical practice. The role involves educating and supporting students in a range of theoretical and practice learning contexts, including simulated practice learning. Representing Paramedics working in a range of environments, the post requires an individual who can demonstrate a team focus, a flexible approach and a strong flair for excellent communication. Organisation and self-management skills are essential for this role along with the ability to prioritise workload and a commitment to the delivery of an excellent student learning experience.  

Applications are welcomed from experienced qualified registered practitioners or academics with relevant experience within the field of paramedicine and with demonstrable prior experience of supporting learners within a higher education environment. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work flexibly within a team as well as show initiative to work independently across all aspects of allied health education.
