Description :

Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers. We are expanding our non-traditional, flexible study options, particularly in apprenticeships serving the public sector.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500 new apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

We are a university of and for our community: local, national and global. If you share our values and have the skills to deliver our vision, we want to hear from you.

During 2019 we announced the major new partnership to deliver police constable education and training for West Midlands, Staffordshire, West Mercia and Warwickshire police forces. We are currently recruiting to a number of Professional Support roles to join our team to support the delivery of this large policing education programme.

Due to the nature of the Police Apprenticeships, the successful candidates will be required to travel across the West Midlands Region (covering the four police forces – Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Police, West Mercia Police, and Warwickshire Police) in order to deliver material. Therefore, mobility is required for this position.

The post holder will work with learners, monitoring and assessing their progress in meeting and evidencing the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined in the relevant apprenticeship and work-based education standards. The role holder will ensure all the relevant documentation is in place to meet funding and quality assurance requirements. The post holder will also undertake learning reviews, most of which will take place within the learners’ workplace. The post holder will be required to possess a valid driving licence and have access to a road worthy vehicle to facilitate off-site employer visits.
