We are looking for a highly motivated lecturer/ senior lecturer to join us in delivering our exciting undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship programmes, and to contribute to our developing research profile. 

We enjoy an excellent reputation for our flexible and innovative UG and PG provision including research degrees and a Professional doctorate in Healthcare Science. 

We benefit from superb purpose-built facilities in in a £30 million Science Centre, and we work regionally and nationally with many organisations, the NHS and industry partners. Putting the students first is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing an excellent student experience through exciting and innovative programmes and research informed teaching at every level.

Applications are sought from very enthusiastic, team-orientated, flexible individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills. 

The post holder will deliver core content on our undergraduate bioscience programmes and will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. 

Relevant expertise to support and develop the areas of Microbiology and Infection Science are sought in this post. An ability to support training in advanced practice in laboratory science would be particularly welcomed. 

Applicants should have a first degree in an appropriate Life Science discipline and a PhD in Biological Science or related area. They should be able to contribute to all key strands of the Royal Society of Biology accreditation core criteria. 

Some recent experience of teaching and assessing in HE or equivalent professional setting is essential, as is demonstration of engagement with scholarship and/or research evidenced by recent publications in peer-reviewed journals or equivalent professional activity. Experience of course or module leadership or development would be welcomed, as would evidence of the generation of external income and a teaching qualification or equivalent.
