Description :

The Department of Psychology in the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Full-time Senior Lecturer with a teaching focus. The appointee will work with the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme (DClinPsy) based in the University of Bath providing both senior leadership and general support and teaching related to the programme.

You should have a DClinPsy or equivalent, and be an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, with team working skills. Accreditation from the Association for Family Therapy or the British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychology or both is also desirable. This is a full-time post with flexible working possible.

The Department has an established tradition of excellence in research and teaching, and we are seeking applicants with demonstrable teaching and leadership ability and enthusiasm.  The role will entail supporting and overseeing training on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate, which has in a short time developed a reputation as one of the leading programmes of its kind nationally.  Within that context, the role involves developing and delivering high quality teaching and supervision, which is informed by significant experience gained via practice, research/study, and teaching. This may include lectures, seminars, laboratory classes, supervision of portfolios or projects, assessment and pastoral care of students, in line with Department and University policy. The post holder may work with the DClinPsy team in the delivery of all aspects of the programme, including teaching in a range of modalities (self-directed learning, debates and so on), arranging timetabling and clinical placements and research supervision.

Both the Department of Psychology and the University of Bath have a Bronze award from the Athena SWAN Charter Scheme. The Department and the University are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive working environment.  We encourage all staff to learn, develop new skills and progress their careers throughout their employment with us and believe our staff are vital in creating the University’s inclusive and innovative community.
