Teaching Associate in Sports and Exercise Science (A3336)

Lancaster Medical School seeks to appoint a one-year fixed term Teaching Associate in Sports and Exercise Science (SaES) to contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate SaES degree. You will work with the Director of Sports Science and a growing team active in SaES teaching, learning and assessment as we work together to develop, and deliver, an excellent Sports and Exercise Science curriculum.

We expect you to participate fully in the intellectual and collective life of Lancaster Medical School and to contribute to the development of a high-quality teaching portfolio that enhances our teaching provision. We are looking for an exceptional individual who is enthusiastic about Sports and Exercise Science, and who is able to teach a wide range of topics within that domain, is able to motivate students effectively and is able to provide pastoral support for undergraduate students.

Specifically, you will be expected to be able, following briefing and with support from the subject expert and module convenor, to lead the delivery of sessions across the whole of the year 1 curriculum. In addition, you will be expected to lead the delivery of Year 2 and Year 3 curriculum elements aligned with your disciplinary domains.

You will work with academic and professional services colleagues, including the manager of the Human Performance Laboratory and staff based in the sports centre to deliver teaching, learning and assessment, including practical learning sessions.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the curriculum as a member of the Sports and Exercise Science team.
