As an Assistant Bars Manager with us your role will be to assist the General Manager in managing the efficient running of HUSU’s bars and catering services which include Sanctuary Bar, Eats, Eats Italia Pizzeria and the Asylum Night Club.

You will be confident in helping manage a busy food and beverage operation whilst maintaining an excellent standard of customer service whilst complying to all relevant statutory requirements along with HUSU standards. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the line management of staff in relation to recruitment, training, development and discipline is carried out and assisting the Commercial team in providing a safe and secure environment for students.

Food Hygiene Level 2 or above or equivalent and Personal Licence (or the agreement to obtain one within 3 months) is essential.

COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Health & Safety Certificate, SIA Door Supervisor Licence and Manual Handling Certificate would be advantageous.

Qualifications & Training

Experience

Experience of cash handling procedures, including credit and debit card transactions.Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.Experience of using EPOS and back office stock control systems.Experience using Microsoft Office packages.Experience of Managing / Supervising a team.Experience of stock ordering, receiving and the control of goods.Experience using social media platforms to promote products and services.
