About the role
Are you skilled in IT with a background in IT support and service delivery? We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our customer facing IT support teams. As an IT Supporter, you will work within a small, experienced team to provide an exceptional IT service across our Academic and Professional Service areas, providing digital solutions within a changing business and technical environment, and supporting the day-to-day IT requirements of this world-leading research and teaching focussed University.

Requirements
You will be highly motivated with excellent communication and IT skills, a proactive approach to customer service and essentially the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. Considerable experience in an IT Support or IT Service Desk role would be a distinct advantage. You will enjoy challenges and problem solving, working alongside colleagues to meet their unique IT needs. You will have a passion for technology and the way that it can be used within a large, sophisticated, and technically challenging environment.

Skills
You will possess a strong understanding of hardware and software and be familiar with a range of operating systems (including mobile devices), experience of using system management tools would be a distinct advantage. You will be looking to develop skills in all facets of IT, to support the university’s diverse professional services, teaching and research capability. This post is part of a small team dedicated to the provision of IT primarily within professional service areas, however you will also be expected to work alongside colleagues from other IT Support teams and will liaise with both first and third line teams from across the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department.

The University of Bath’s Digital, Data and Technology department is responsible for the efficient delivery of IT and digital services and is coordinating a technology modernisation programme in order to meet future needs and challenges. This position is offered on a full time basis, fixed term for 12 months.
