This is a brilliant opportunity for a Management Accountant to undertake a balanced and varied role. It involves undertaking the management accounts for several professional service departments (e.g. The Apprenticeship Office, Research and Knowledge Exchange Department and the Green Growth Platform) at the University of Brighton. You will be responsible for undertaking the financial returns for several associated project grants.  

Working in a well-established finance team, you will undertake the full range of management accounting tasks for example:

Providing financial advice and support to budget managers and heads of department.Undertake budget setting for the relevant professional service departments.Monthly budget monitoring including regular budget holder meetings.Outturn forecastingProducing reconciliations particularly around apprenticeshipsUndertaking Year end tasks and providing support to audit queriesManaging the finance on several non-research project grants.There will be opportunities to get involved in project costing.

To succeed you will:

Be a part Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA), ATT Full Member or QBE.Have financial awareness and the ability to explain financial concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.Have problem solving skills and the ability to provide financial support to organisational change.Have good oral and written communication skills and able to work to a high degree of accuracy.Be able to work independently and proactively with demonstrable Excel skills.Understand of the challenges of working in a large, complex organisation.

This is a part-time permanent role working 30 hours per week. The post is based at our Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton and falls within our agile framework allowing individuals to split their time between working at home and in the office.
