We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take on a varied and interesting role within a team which supports the University’s Research Institutes and Data Cyber Quarter (DCQ)

You should have experience of providing excellent customer-service focused administrative support including event management; experience within a research environment in a higher education institution is an advantage but not essential. You should have experience of monitoring and reporting on financial income and expenditure, preferably using an electronic financial system; and should be confident using computer packages to complete tasks quickly and accurately within deadlines. Excellent communication skills are essential as is a commitment to providing high standards of customer service to a diverse range of people whilst working closely with a supportive and friendly team. You should be self-motivated and keen to develop new skills which will be supported by peers and managers.

The role will be based within Research Services, which is part of the University’s Research and Enterprise Services Division and plays a key role in helping the University achieve our strategic goals by providing expert advice, guidance and administrative support to the University’s research community in the development of bids for externally funded research. The Research Services teams provide a range of activities including advice on funders’ terms and conditions, proposal preparation, costing and pricing, impact, ethics, contracts and post-award grant administration.
