The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Head of Service – Disability to manage the delivery and development of the University of Nottingham’s disability adviser team ensuring the delivery of high-quality disability guidance and advice to students and staff across the University.

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a team through a disability inclusive project to address the gaps and needs of our students in order to develop inclusive knowledge and behaviours at the University.

We welcome candidates with specialist knowledge of support for a range of disabled students, including those with mental health difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, sensory and mobility impairments and long-term medical conditions. You’ll work alongside a sister team of specialist tutors who support students with specific learning differences.
 
You’ll have the understanding of the nature and challenges involved in life at University and the ways in which disability can impact on study. The candidate will have a degree or a proven track record of extensive disability work experience. You’ll also have well developed negotiating and influencing skills and be able to work with highly sensitive information appropriately and operate with minimal supervision, prioritising and planning a busy workload.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
