Description :

The School of Humanities at the University of Southampton encompasses a diverse range of subjects providing high-quality teaching within a vibrant research culture. Southampton Digital Humanities contributes to that environment, comprising a team of academics and technicians who take digital and computational approaches to engaging with the humanities. The Digital Humanities team has existing expertise in approaches and methods including data visualisation, digital infrastructures, digital cultures and media, critical data studies, corpus linguistics, and computational analysis. The Digital Humanities team provides access to this expertise, as well as specialist equipment and technologies, to support teaching, research, and enterprise across the School of Humanities.

We are looking for a Lecturer in Digital Humanities to join our team of dedicated researchers and educators. You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification, a developing research profile and teaching agenda in Digital Humanities, Digital Media, Digital Culture, and/or an aligned subject area. You will be supported by recent investment in Digital Humanities expertise, estate, and resources. Notable among these is our Digital Humanities Hub, an infrastructure that provides access to technologies and expertise that enable us to make and explore virtual worlds, compute text, sonify pictures, scan and manipulate heritage objects, immerse ourselves in data visualisations, and much more.
