Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Secondary English Education (EHT0307-0323)

 About the Role

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Secondary English Education you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of programmes in the Secondary & Further Education Department, contributing to the delivery of our modules in English education (including undergraduate programmes, PGCE, Subject Knowledge Enhancement, Masters and EdD / PhD supervision) depending on your areas of expertise and experience.

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department and to meet the requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.

You will also engage with our partnership through activities such as network events, bespoke English CPD and co-created research projects. You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. An established or promising research profile in English education, language and linguistics and very good teaching experience on relevant undergraduate or postgraduate programmes is essential.  

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within English.
