The role

A postdoctoral researcher (part-time, fixed-term) is going to be employed to work on a project funded by the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account on Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) for managing supply chain finance of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The length of the position is 6 months, and it is part-time, i.e., 0.5 FTE.

The project is in collaboration with leading industrial partners, on a very timely topic, aiming primarily to create practical impact. The work packages of the project will explore the impacts of CBDCs on supply chain finance aspects of SMEs involved in global supply chains. The project is led by Dr Vahid Mirzabeiki, Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at Department of Business Analytics and Operations of Surrey Business School.

About you

You should have a PhD in either areas related to supply chain and operation management or FinTech. You should be comfortable and enthusiastic about working with industrial institutions and practitioners on a project primarily aiming to make a practical impact. You should have both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, strong communication skills in written and spoken English, presentation and networking, and teamwork skills. The project includes occasional travels within the UK.
