Description :

Are you an experienced and ambitious academic looking for your next challenge? Do you have an excellent research record and proven success obtaining funding? Do you have experience of delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

The School of Earth and Environment (SEE) is seeking applications from an enthusiastic and self-motivated physical climate scientist to complement existing expertise in the School. Your role will be to strengthen and expand physical climate change research and teaching activities in SEE. We are specifically looking for someone who will support physical climate science teaching in the recently launched MSc Climate Futures: Science, Society and Policy programme. Given the ambitious, transdisciplinary nature of this programme, an appreciation of multidisciplinary  perspectives is essential for the role. Your role will also be to strengthen and enhance SEE's excellent, internationally recognised profile in climate science research. In particular, a proven record of research related to future climate change, climate change modelling, impacts or mitigation would build upon existing expertise, with the anticipation of broader research impact and policy relevant outcomes.

You will have a PhD in climate science or allied subjects and substantial research expertise in the field of climate change science. You will also have experience of interdisciplinary teaching or research, with a track record of diverse collaboration and successful translation of your work into policy settings. Finally, you will have experience of both teaching and assessment of climate science content in a University setting, and of supervision of masters and PhD students.

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
