The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a full time Research Technician. This role is indefinite, however subject to funding, which is currently only available for a maximum of a 12 month period.

This role will provide essential support to the department’s research activities. The main project that you would be working on offers an opportunity for you to directly impact the development of materials for technical and medical applications, and how their properties may influence their interactions with the body. The project will use a variety of synthetic and analytical techniques (e.g., spectroscopy, microscopy) to develop drug delivery systems (we are especially keen to hear from candidates with experience of working with needles, microneedles, iontophoretic patches, electroporation and/or other medical devices).

ABOUT YOU

You will:

Have experience in working with drug delivery systems.

Be able to demonstrate competent knowledge of health and safety and have experience of implementing safe systems and controls.

Have experience of working in a chemistry laboratory using a range of wet chemistry skills.
