About the role 

Our Academic Development team works closely with academic and professional services staff to support the development of excellent teaching and learning across the University. Working as part of a team of Academic Developers within the Academic Quality and Development Directorate, you will develop and deliver a range of academic professional development activities to support the delivery of the University's Academic Strategy, including the Staffordshire Route to Fellowship and our flagship Learning and Teaching Festival. You will also play a key role in providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues across the University on the design, delivery and assessment of curricula, and on the continuous enhancement of learning and teaching practices. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the team’s work in one of these areas.   

Main Responsibilities 

The main responsibilities for our Academic Developer will be to: 

Work closely with course teams to support continuous enhancement of learning and teaching practices;Work with subject academics and central services experts across the University to provide specialist advice and expertise to support inclusive curriculum design and development, planning, teaching and assessment practices; Develop, organise and ensure the delivery of academic development programmes for teaching and learning support staff in collaboration with colleagues across the University;Provide specialist advice and guidance on academic practice and development, to include the delivery of sessions and individual consultations for staff;Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies and implementation plans that underpin the Academic Strategy and make it ‘live’ in programme design.
