The School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Criminology and Criminal Justice on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2027.

The post has been created to provide teaching support and ensure continuity of delivery across key areas of the School's teaching portfolio. The successful candidate will contribute primarily to the delivery of the MA Criminology and Criminal Justice, with a particular emphasis on criminal justice, punishment and penal policy.

The role will involve teaching, assessment and student support across a range of postgraduate modules, including Comparative Penology and Penal Policy and a newly developed module, Prisons, Punishment and Penal Change.

Applicants should therefore possess a strong understanding of criminal justice institutions, penal systems, prisons and punishment policy, and be able to teach confidently within these areas.

While candidates may have a background in criminology, the School is particularly interested in applicants with expertise in criminal justice, penology, prisons, sentencing, punishment or related legal and policy dimensions of criminal justice.

Closing Date: 30 Oct 2026

Department: Internal Only Vacancies

Salary: £33,002 per annum
Please note, this post is fixed-term until 31st July 2027 and full-time at 37 hours per week.
