The past few years have witnessed major developments in the field of terrestrial planet formation. Thanks to the advances in computational technology, the three leading scenarios, namely, the traditional model, pebble accretion, and formation in rings, have become more complex, and have demonstrated their expansive success. How these approaches compare and contribute to developing a comprehensive model are among outstanding questions in planetary astrophysics. This session aims at introducing each scenario and assessing their capabilities by comparing their results to our knowledge of terrestrial planets in our solar system.
