EFMC-ISMC 2020 — XXVI EFMC International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry

The 2020 edition will continue the tradition established for these biennial symposia of covering advances in drug discovery in major therapeutic areas, including the treatment of bacterial and viral infections, diseases related to the CNS, heart disease, fibrotic diseases and cancer. EFMC-ISMC 2020 will also present most recent advances in highly topical areas such as, for example, the application of artificial intelligence in drug discovery and in synthesis, carbohydrate recognition and drug design, the targeting of RNA, small molecule-induced stem cell differentiation, and the impact of cryo-EM on drug discovery and design. In a series of Chemical Biology sessions, the interface between chemical biology and drug discovery will be highlighted by discussing the use of chemical probes for target discovery, aspects of molecular imaging, and photochemical approaches. In response to frequent requests by attendees of previous conferences, several sessions will be dedicated to advances in synthetic methodology for drug discovery. Finally, particular emphasis will again be put on first time disclosures and recent highlights in medicinal chemistry.
