STEPS 2: Functional Stimulation in Parkinson’s Disease, qualitative study 

About the post:

Applicants are invited for a part-time Research Fellow position to join a multidisciplinary team of academics, clinicians, and patient representatives. The successful applicant will contribute to an embedded qualitative study within a multi-centre randomised controlled trial (RCT).

This qualitative component will explore the experiences of individuals with Parkinson’s disease participating in a trial investigating the use of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) to improve mobility. The findings from the qualitative study will be used to contextualise and enrich the interpretation of quantitative outcomes, providing a more holistic, patient-centred understanding of both physical and psychosocial impacts.

About you: 

We are seeking applicants with experience in qualitative research, ideally within the field of health services research. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility to meet project deadlines.

Essential skills and experience include:

Strong understanding of qualitative research methodsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesExperience of conducting and analysing interviewsCommitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
